Instructions for using the Discussion Forum

To go back to where you logged in:
Click the Home link at the top of the page.
To get back to the Discussion Forum List:
Click the All Forums link at the very top of the page.
To find out what an icon (little picture) means:
Move your cursor on top of it (without clicking) and a yellow message will appear to explain it.
Its ok to explore by clicking on any button or word. If youre not supposed to use that button, you will get a message letting you know.
To log out:
Click the log out button at the top of the page. Your account is secure once you log out.
To Read The Discussion Topics:
  1. Click on the small folder to the left of the Forum
  2. A list of Topics posed by the moderator or other women appears. If you look to the right, you can see how often the topic was read, and how many replies there were to the topic. This shows you which topics are most popular.
  3. Click on the small folder or directly on the name of the topic you want to read first.
  4. The original message appears first. The replies are below it in order from first to last.
  5. To go back to read other topics, you can either:
  • click the Back button on your web browser,
  • or look just under where it says SEB Connect Discussion Board and you will see the path of folders you took to get to the current page, and you can click on the previous folder to go back.
To Reply to a Topic:
  1. When you are reading a topic, you can post your own thoughts about what people are saying by clicking on the link at the right of the page that says Reply to Topic.
  2. Type your message into the light blue box. You can use the little faces to express an emotion (these are called emoticons). If you move your cursor over one of the faces, a little yellow window will appear to tell you what it means.
  3. When you are finished writing your message, click the Post New Reply button.
  4. A thank you message will appear, and automatically take you back to the topic discussion.
To Post a Question or Topic of Your Own
  1. You can submit a question or start your own topic to discuss by clicking on the pink folder that says New Topic
  2. Type in the subject of your new topic a few short words about what you are posting.
  3. Then type your message. When you are finished, click the Post New Topic button.
  4. A thank you message will appear, and automatically take you back to the topic discussion.
To Submit a Testimonial
  1. Click on the pink folder that says New Topic
  2. In the subject of your new topic type: My Testimonial
  3. Now you can write your testimonial, and explain what you learned in the Self Esteem groups, how the program helped you, steps you are taking to change your life, what youre doing now, or anything else that you want to say about your experience with Self Esteem.
  4. You can choose to make your testimonial public so that other women on SEBconnect can read it, or private so that only the SEB staff can read it.
  5. When you are finished, click the Post New Topic button.
  6. A thank you message will appear, and then automatically it will take you back to the topic discussion.
